An alphanumeric sender name of up to 11 characters instead of a random number. Most European networks, Germany and Austria included, deliver it without pre-registration. Czech and Slovak operators require a one-off registration (€20.58), which we file for you.

Prices per SMS segment (160 GSM characters, or 70 once the text contains a character outside the GSM alphabet, such as an emoji; German umlauts and ß are part of it), excluding VAT. TopSMS is currently not VAT-registered, so no VAT is added. Accounts created here are billed in euros by card or SEPA Direct Debit, and every invoice is issued in euros. A delivered message to a number the carrier routes outside the standard route (for example one ported to a virtual operator) is charged at the actual carrier price, at most €0.103 per segment; this affects a fraction of a percent of numbers and shows in your transaction history.

From sign-up to the first message
Create an account
Name, e-mail, mobile number and a password. We text you a code to confirm the number; once you enter it, the account is active and you have 10 free SMS.
Send a test
Type a message in the dashboard or call the API with your key. Until your own sender name is approved, messages go out as "TopSMS".
Top up and go live
Pay by card, request your sender name and connect your shop, CRM or invoicing system through the API, the WooCommerce plugin or Make.
Send your first SMS from code
Create an API key in the dashboard (client ID and secret) and call the endpoint. Numbers go in international format; the sender name falls back to TopSMS until yours is approved.

Can I use my company name as the sender in Germany?
Yes. Enter a name of up to 11 letters and digits when sending. German, Austrian and most other European networks deliver alphanumeric sender names without registration. For the Czech Republic and Slovakia we register the name with the operators for a one-off fee of €20.58.
How do I pay from outside the Czech Republic?
By card (Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay) or SEPA Direct Debit through Stripe, in euros, from €5. Credit from a SEPA Direct Debit is added once the payment is confirmed, usually in 2 to 5 business days. You receive a euro invoice for every top-up. Bank transfer is not offered for euro accounts.
Why is an SMS to Germany €0.084 while Czechia costs €0.036?
Operator termination fees differ by country. The Czech and Slovak price is our home-market rate; for the rest of Europe we pass on the local network price with a small margin.
Is there an API, and what does it support?
A REST API with JSON, bulk sending of up to 500 recipients per request, scheduling, delivery status by webhook and an OpenAPI specification, plus a PHP library, a WooCommerce plugin and an official Make app.
Where is my data processed?
The application and database run in an EU data centre. Delivery to networks goes through EU-based carriers. The data processing agreement (DPA) under Article 28 GDPR is published at topsms.eu/dpa and applies to every account.
Is the dashboard available in English?
Yes. Accounts created here get the dashboard in English (German is available too), billing in euros and the API documentation at topsms.eu/docs. The API uses English field names and error messages. Support in English is by e-mail.
